Jim is a retired business consultant, speaker, presentation coach and charity worker still aiming to help others get the results in life that they seek.
He has lifted audiences spirits by delivering his inspirational keynote presentation, “The Futures So Bright, We Need Shades”, to meetings and sales conferences throughout the UK.
He has also inspired financial advisers both nationally and internationally, to better serve their clients and prospects with his thought provoking and very personal keynote presentation “It has to be us” and his various workshops including ” The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Protection Advisers.”
As a presentation coach, he has helped people win hearts and minds, secure new jobs, win new business and generally, connect more effectively with their audiences.
As a business consultant he has helped companies, particularly in the financial services field, develop their people and increase their sales and profitability.
As a charity worker, Jim was founder Chairman of Friends of Young Carers (Bath & N E Somerset), a former Board member and trustee of the Volunteer Centre Bath, and a business mentor for The Princes Trust.
Overall, Jim has worked in financial services for 34 years, spending 27 years with what was Hambro Life, became Allied Dunbar and is now Zurich Financial Services.
In his various roles of Sales Consultant, Sales Manager, Area Sales Director, Protection Marketing Director, Investment Marketing Director, Mortgage Marketing Director, Client Marketing Director, and Sales Promotion Director, Jim has influenced every aspect of the marketing mix and also worked with virtually all of the leading financial advisers in the U K, helping them develop their practices and serve customers better.
He retired from full time financial services work in 2003 and took up a portfolio of roles.
In addition to speaking in the UK, Jim has also spoken to audiences in Europe, South East Asia, Canada, the USA, Brazil, India and The United Arab Emirates. He has shared the platform with Sir Clive Woodward and William Hague MP.
Away from work, Jim, whilst living in Bath, is proud to be a Brummie, and has a girlfriend Jo, and two children, Eleanor and Patrick. He loves music of all types and regularly plays air guitar with the Kings of Leon and the Killers. He also has a Wurlitzer jukebox and a collection of 3000 45’s.
Jim is a Bath Rugby season ticket holder and a long suffering fan of Birmingham City.
His favourite film, as you might guess from the photo, is Field of Dreams!
